The Genesis of Horror Metal

Founded in March 2011 by visionary multi-instrumentalist Murihell (Muriel Saracino), Madness Of Sorrow emerged from the ashes of the Italian Gothic/Hard Rock scene with a singular mission: to blend cinematic horror atmosphere with industrial aggression. Based between Milan and Turin, the band has spent over a decade perfecting a sound that is as theatrical as it is relentless.

A Legacy of Darkness

Since their debut album Signs (2011)—which saw them sharing the stage with Italian metal icons Cadaveria—the band has maintained a prolific output. From the sacrilegious undertones of Take the Children Away from the Priest (2013) to the sonic evolution of 666: THE DISCIPLE (2022), Madness Of Sorrow has toured Europe, building a loyal cult following through high-energy performances and a dark, immersive aesthetic.

The Political Apocalypse: “The Silent Sovereign” (2025)

In 2025, the band reached a new creative zenith with the release of “The Silent Sovereign”. This concept album marks a departure into even darker territory, narrating the chilling transformation of Murihell into an Antichrist figure. The story follows a path of demonic possession and damnation, culminating in a terrifying political ascension to world domination.

Sonic DNA

The music of Madness Of Sorrow is a gritty, high-octane cocktail of Industrial Metal and Gothic Horror. It is the perfect sonic landscape for fans of Rob Zombie’s groove, Ministry’s mechanical aggression, and the theatrical provocation of Marilyn Manson.
